This semester they will be March 25th and 26th! Elections are in November and March of each year. CSG's midterms are in November and fill vacancies in the Assembly. March elections are a reset of the government and a new Assembly and Executive Team are elected. They are held on the last Wednesday and Thursday before Thanksgiving in November and the last Wednesday and Thursday in March.

You can visit vote.umich.edu to vote on the two Election Days. This semester they are March 25th and 26th.

All of them! You will have 2 CSG ballots, one for the CSG Presidential race, and another for the CSG Representatives elected to represent your school or college. Your other ballot is your unit student government election. Each school or college has its own student government that represents its students, while CSG represents all 19 schools and colleges across the University.
*Note: Some schools and colleges may have less ballots

Any student at the University of Michigan is eligible to run as long as they have one semester remaining after the current one. No prior experience is necessary.

There are limited requirements and barriers to entry. The only requirements are that you attend one Assembly meeting and that you attend one of two Candidates Information Sessions.

To be placed on the ballot and become a Candidate you must fill out a candidacy application form and send to the University Elections Commission. This form will be listed on this page of the website when open. For more information, email electiondirector@umich.edu

An Executive Ticket is a slate of a Presidential and Vice Presidential candidate.

To endorse a candidate, please fill out an affidavit of endorsement. These forms will be available on this page when open.

The Executive Debate is an optional part of the campaigning process. In conjunction with the University of Michigan Debate and the Michigan Daily, the CSG Elections Commission hosts a debate for all of the Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates. The date, time, and location of the debate will be posted on this page when applicable.

The Meet the Candidates event is an opportunity to informally get to know the candidates for CSG election. Students may come to this open forum to ask their candidates questions or learn about their positions.
