Tyler Watt
Student General Counsel
Tyler is a first-year at Michigan Law, who graduated with High Honors in Political Science from the University of Michigan College of LSA in 2022. During undergrad, he served as President of LSA Student Government (2021-22), Counsel of LSA Student Government (2020-21), CSG Elections Director (F2020 and F2021), and CSG Deputy Commissioner for Election Operations (W2022). Tyler is also a Notary Public, a member of Phi Kappa Phi honor society and Beta Upsilon Chi social fraternity. In the professional world, Tyler has interned in local politics and national lobbying firms.
Previously, Tyler sat on CSG's University Council, the Office of Student Life's Interfaith Advisory Board, and OSCR's Student Conflict Resolution Advisory Board. As the Student General Counsel, Tyler's chief priorities are effective governance and students' rights. He is the primary legal advocate for CSG before all student judiciaries and organizes efforts related to student government elections. Tyler also plays a role in advising the Assembly on legislative matters.
