Akhila Mullapudi
Government Relations Coordinator | Students of Michigan Delegate
Akhila Mullapudi (she/her) is a rising sophomore at the University of Michigan. Akhila began as a community organizer in high school which sparked her interest in government, policy, and the law. She has advocated for gender equity, economic reform, criminal justice reform, education equality, climate change, and more. She has worked closely with local, state, and national public servants. Doing everything from organizing protests to lobbying, Akhila’s love for her community is why she joined student government.
Last year, she served as the Deputy Policy Advisor for University Consciousness with Central Student Government. Some of her projects include researching divesting from unethical investments, working to gain student representation on the Board of Regents and various projects that relate to ensuring that the University of Michigan acts upon its values.
This year, she is ecstatic to fulfill that same overarching goal as the Students of Michigan Delegate. She hopes to positively impact all students at the University of Michigan regardless of which campus they attend. Her objective this year is to create one community of Wolverines and represent all students.
