Andrew van Baal (he/him) is a freshman from Grand Rapids, Michigan intending to pursue a double major in Political Science and Economics with a minor in Business. Andrew is currently serving as intern to CSG Vice President Carla Voigt. Andrew has previous experience in student leadership, involving 4 years of student council in high school and serving on his high school's Board of Education as a student representative, and is involved in various other organizations on campus such as FlipBlue and Students for Whitmer. Andrew is looking forward to working alongside Carla on various initiatives and has already enjoyed working on projects such as free counter compost bins and menstrual cups for students to promote campus sustainability, and late night ride reimbursements to ensure campus safety. In his free time, Andrew enjoys running through beautiful Ann Arbor, being a barista at Sweetwaters, and spending time with his friends. Andrew is looking forward to continuing to be an advocate for the U-M student body alongside the Executive Team and plans to continue to serve in Central Student Government in the years to come!
